Our Story
We’re Jason and Angela, the people behind Lane Head Larder. Between us, we’ve spent years cooking, baking and looking after people, from neighbourhood restaurant tables to weddings, polo events and thousands of boxes of brownies. Now we’re bringing all of that experience home to Lane Head.
Meet Jason

I’ve always liked the moment when good ingredients become something people want to gather around. The photograph above catches me in a Ready Steady Cook-style challenge, working out what to make with an audience watching. It was right up my street.
Food has taken me through Lunch-on.com event catering, Dine on the Rowe, Rebels’ Smokehouse and Rub Smokehouse. Each taught me something about feeding people well, whether there were two at the table or hundreds in the room.
From the White Rose Polo Club’s inaugural summer event in 2006 until 2012, we regularly catered its full day of food: breakfast, lunch and dinner. We developed picnic baskets with joints of ham for the head of each table to carve, while bowls of salad, cheese and bread were passed around. Everyone became part of the meal.

At Dine on the Rowe, our neighbourhood restaurant built around local ingredients, we brought the same idea to Sunday lunch. Our sharing board roast came with small joints for someone at the table to carve and serve. We also catered intimate weddings, making the food fit the people and the occasion. You can see a little of that history in this 2011 local story about our outside catering.
Then came the bigger flavours and lively atmosphere of Rebels’ Smokehouse and Rub Smokehouse. Some of the dishes travelled far beyond the restaurants, but what mattered most was seeing people enjoy themselves around a table.
Meet Angela
Angela brings warmth to everything we do. She’s the person who will join the customers for a dance in a packed restaurant, then make sure the little details of their visit are taken care of. She has brought that spirit to Brownie Heaven too, from looking after customers to preparing gifts with care.
At Lane Head Larder, she brings that same welcome to the food we make for your stay. We want it to feel personal, thoughtful and easy to enjoy together.
From Brownie Heaven to Lane Head Larder
Brownie Heaven began in 2003 and is still going strong. The brownies and blondies we’re known for are now baked here at Lane Head, alongside the bread, savoury food and little extras we make for our guests.
Lane Head Larder is our chance to bring those years of restaurant cooking, event catering, hospitality and baking together. Whether it’s a loaf for the breakfast table, a meal to share in the barn or something bespoke for a celebration, tell us what you have in mind. We’d love to cook for you.
